Revolut and Trust Wallet debut instant crypto buys across the EU

European crypto users just got a faster on-ramp to self-custody. Revolut and Trust Wallet have rolled out instant crypto purchases that deliver assets directly to a user-controlled Trust Wallet—skipping the usual custodial holding account. CoinDesk first reported the integration, framing it as a self-custody-first buy flow for the EU/EEA.

What’s new—and why it matters

At launch, Trust Wallet users in the European Economic Area can pick Revolut as a payment option inside the app’s “Buy” screen, fund instantly, and receive coins straight into their self-custody wallet. That means you hold the keys from the moment of purchase—no extra transfer out of a custodial app required. Trust Wallet’s announcement highlights the self-custody focus and confirms EEA availability.

The partnership is powered by Revolut Ramp (Revolut’s direct-to-wallet on-ramp). In plain English: Revolut processes the payment and ships the crypto to the wallet address you specify—your address, not a Revolut account. Revolut’s Ramp pages and terms describe exactly that flow.

Fees, limits, and supported assets

Trust Wallet says users who pay with Revolut Pay can enjoy 0% fees from Revolut (standard network/third-party fees still apply). The blog also lists launch limits: €10 minimum, €23,000 maximum per transaction, and €23,000 daily per customer.

On assets, the rollout starts with BTC, ETH, SOL, with the post noting that coverage is set to expand (including USDC) as Revolut broadens token support.

How the buy flow works

  1. Open Trust Wallet → Buy. Choose your fiat currency and the crypto you want.
  2. Pick Revolut Pay. It may appear as “Revolut,” “Revolut Pay,” or “RPay” in the payment list. Select it to access the zero-fee option from Revolut.
  3. Confirm in Revolut. You’ll be redirected to the Revolut app/site to complete the payment.
  4. Receive in self-custody. The purchased crypto is sent directly to your Trust Wallet address—no custodial hop. (That direct-to-wallet remit is exactly what Revolut Ramp is designed to do.)

Self-custody, explained in one minute

“Not your keys, not your coins” has become a mantra for good reason. A self-custody wallet like Trust Wallet gives you control over private keys and funds, reducing reliance on intermediaries. This launch shortens the path from fiat → keys-you-control, which is why it’s notable even for experienced users who typically do an extra withdrawal step. Trust Wallet’s announcement explicitly frames the feature around speed, lower fees with Revolut Pay, and user control.

Why Revolut? Why now?

Revolut has spent years building out crypto features alongside its broader finance super-app. Revolut Ramp is the logical extension—embedding a compliant, direct-to-wallet purchase rail into leading self-custody apps. Its product pages and legal terms describe identity checks, order quotes, and direct remittance to third-party wallets—the pipes behind this Trust Wallet integration.

For Trust Wallet, which positions itself as a popular self-custody app in Europe, embedding a familiar payment option inside the wallet lowers friction for first-time buyers and regulars alike—particularly with Revolut Pay’s zero-fee offer and instant funding. The official blog post lays out both the user journey and the limits in black and white.

How this compares to the usual on-ramp

Traditionally, EU users buy on a custodial platform, then withdraw to a self-custody wallet—two steps, two fees, and extra waiting. Here, the purchase and self-custody are a single flow. That’s the key difference CoinDesk emphasized: a self-custody focus from the outset.

Quick setup tips

  • Update the app. Trust Wallet notes you should be on the latest version before using the feature.
  • Use Revolut Pay for the promo. To access 0% fees from Revolut, select Revolut Pay specifically (wording may vary). Network fees still apply.
  • Know your limits. Plan around the €10–€23,000 per-transaction and daily caps.
  • Check supported currencies. Availability depends on Revolut-supported fiat in your region.
  • Understand the provider. The service is delivered by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd. via Revolut Ramp, per Trust Wallet’s notice.

Bottom line

For the EU/EEA, Revolut’s on-ramp inside Trust Wallet is a tidy quality-of-life upgrade: instant funding, 0% Revolut fees when using Revolut Pay, and self-custody by default. If you’ve been juggling apps to get coins off a custodial exchange and into your own wallet, this integration removes the extra hop and gives you control from the first tap. CoinDesk called out the self-custody angle; Trust Wallet’s own guide fills in the operational details—fees, limits, regions, and how to trigger Revolut Pay in-app.
